The shown photos were used as source images for this example. They have a resolution of 3264x2448 pixels.

We will create fixed-size thumbnails with a resolution of 300x300 pixels. The original images are not square. Therefore it is necessary to crop the edges of the images to fit the thumbnail size.
On the following pages you will see the results.

Now we want to create grayscale thumbnails. The corresponding option can be found in the "Image Manipulation Settings" menu.

Furthermore, we've chosen to use the left upper corner of the source images for the thumbnail creation. (In the last example we have used the middle area of the source images.)

In the following example, gnuThumbnailer was set-up to auto-rotate images by their EXIF-information. Therefore, the image is correctly rotated on the following thumbnails.

We want to create thumbnails which are just scaled. So the source-images will not be cropped. They just will be resized to fit the maximum width and the maximum height. In the following example we've set both values to 300 pixels.

Now we want to stain the thumbnails. To have a better impression of how the results will be look, you can use your own preview images.

Now we want to overlay the colors of the images to give them a little sunset-feeling.

OK, now let's make it really gaudy.

Now we will rotate the images by 45 degrees. This will create hard edges, so it's a splendid good idea to save the images as PNG files.

Let's create a red border around the images.

We can use the border settings to create pictures that look like polaroid photos.

We also want to add this cute water sign to the images.
